We’ve been asked a few times why we chose Shenandoah National Park for our wedding location. Besides its gorgeous views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Park holds a special place in our hearts.
Together we have hiked several trails, including Stony Man & Little Stony Man, Lewis Falls, Rose River, and Dark Hollow. We’ve climbed mountains to look out upon the Shenandoah Valley and hiked down to the plunge pools of waterfalls (and back up again). We’ve spent afternoons breathing in the fresh mountain air and relaxing in the tranquility. We’ve walked among the trees and found the oddities of nature, and we’ve laughed and loved our own (odd) selves while there.
We could have had a backyard wedding or found someplace in Richmond that could accommodate us. Instead, we decided to celebrate our wedding with our families and friends in a place that has filled our souls with a sense of adventure and peacefulness.
